Freight train derails near Toronto: report

GO Transit was reporting a freight train derailment along the Lakeshore West train line near Toronto on Saturday.

The reported derailment had trains along the line delayed in both directions.

The station servicing the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto was among those experiencing delays.

The Aldershot 11:34 - Union 12:40 train trip is delayed 16 minutes from Aldershot due to volume of rail traffic.

The Union 11:43 - Aldershot 12:48 train trip arrived Aldershot 22 minutes late due to a freight train derailment.

The Aldershot 12:04 - Union 13:10 train trip is holding west of Oakville due to volume of rail traffic as a result of a freight train derailment. The current delay is 15 minutes.

LAKESHORE EAST LINE:

The Union 12:13 - Oshawa 13:08 train trip arrived Oshawa 10 minutes late due to an operational issue, and track speed reductions.
