RCMP have charged a St. Walburg, Saskatchewan man with a number of offences, including attempted murder, after another man was shot in the chest on Thursday. 

Robert Johnson, 46, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and two charges of a firearm used in the commission of an offence. 

The charges come after a St. Walburg, Saskatchewan area man was shot in the upper chest near the Brightsand Lake Regional Park entrance. 

The 46-year-old victim drove himself 15 kilometres from the scene of the shooting to a residence for help. 

He is currently in a Saskatoon hospital with what RCMP say are serious injuries. 

Johnson is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster court on February 13th. 

St. Walburg is approximately 240 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
