A true Saskatchewanian, Lisa was born and raised in Prince Albert. After completing her diploma in journalism at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Lisa returned to her roots and began her broadcasting career in radio at CJVR in Melfort.
Television journalism was always where Lisa wanted to be, so it wasn't long before she accepted a position as a reporter at CTV-Prince Albert. From there, Lisa was promoted to news anchor for CTV-Regina.
In October of 2005, Lisa joined Global Saskatoon as a reporter and weekend anchor. Before long, she was promoted to the position of full time news anchor.
And when Global Saskatoon announced the Morning News would start airing in December 2011, Lisa was first on board.
“I am so excited to launch this show, and be part of something new for Saskatoon! People here deserve a cutting edge morning show. Global has been delivering morning shows in places like Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver for years. Now it’s our turn!”
“I love knowing I’ll get to say good morning, and smile at the people of Saskatoon every morning. My goal is to give quick, quality news… and hopefully share a laugh with viewers. We plan to have a lot of fun on our show!”
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys getting outside with her little boy, Jesse, and hanging out with other mom’s and tots.
“What’s great about my new shift, is I am off by noon! I get to spend the day with my son!”
Lisa and her husband Colin are avid local sports fans and never miss a Huskie’s football game. “We love this city, and love being in the thick of things.”
Join Lisa as she hosts the Morning News @ 6, Monday through Friday and be sure to follow Lisa on Twitter.
