After graduating in 2003 from Mount Royal College in Calgary, Julie began her broadcasting career in the border city of Lloydminster where she worked for NewCap, spending a year as a creative writer before turning to radio and television news. In the spring of 2007, Julie made the move to Saskatoon where she worked at Shaw TV before joining Global Saskatoon in August of 2007.

Julie enjoys meeting Saskatonians and learning what is important to them. “People here really care about issues and talk openly about what they want for the future.” She has a passion for reporting human interest stories, “stories about people surviving tough experiences and overcoming life challenges. Those are stories all of us can connect with and relate to.”

Although there are many reasons why Julie loves her job, “the number one reason is because every day is unique. I constantly have the opportunity to learn something new, and give a voice to the important things happening in our community.”

Julie is proud to call Saskatchewan home and “quickly discovered that you need two things to live here – a warm toque and a Roughriders jersey!” An avid reader, Julie volunteers with Read Saskatoon and supports family literacy in the community. She also enjoys walks along Riverlanding, cooking and spending time with her husband.
