Pink house coming to Saskatoon

John Cougar Mellencamp wrote a song about pink houses, now a local group is building a pink house in Saskatoon.

PinkWood Ltd. and Campbell Custom Homes unveiled the first “all pink” mould, moisture and fire resistant home in the Bridge City.

Framing material for the house located at 744 Rempel Cove in Stonebridge were coated with Pinkshield 5000, a coating proven to resist fire, mould, fungus and rot.

Jason Campbell, owner and operator of Campbell Homes, says the project is a unique way to support the community.

“The Pink House Campaign is an opportunity to connect with suppliers in our industry and encourage them to come on board,” said Campbell.

“Together, we can make a big impact on breast health care, right here at home.”

The value of all goods and services contributed to the Pink House will be donated to the Breast Health Centre at Saskatoon City Hospital.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $50,000 over the next four weeks.

So far, contributions are just over $30,000.
