  • Ryan was raised in The Battlefords and is currently 33-years-old.

  • Mr. Bater went to the University of Saskatchewan and earned a degree in Business Economics.
  •  
  • In 2005, he was chosen as ‘Economic Developer of the Year’ by the Saskatchewan Economic Developers Association.
  •  
  • Ryan represented Sask. as the Co-Chair of the Economic Developers Association of Canada National Conference in 2007.
  •  
  • Mr. Bater was on the organizing committee for the 2008 Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life in The Battlefords.
  •  
  • Ryan is treasurer for his local constituency association.
  •  
  • Currently, he is a Director of the North Sask. River Water Resource Committee, which is an organization dedicated to maximizing the socio-economic benefits of the North Saskatchewan River water resource.

  • His official status as leader of Liberals of Saskatchewan was confirmed on Feb. 21st, 2009. He succeeded David Karwacki after submitting the only nomination.

  • Placed third in the 2007 and 2011 Saskatchewan provincial elections for The Battlefords riding.

  • Ryan is an annual participant in the Saskatchewan Marathon and enjoys recreational hockey in the winter.

  • He is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
  •  
  • Ryan enjoys playing Beatles songs on his guitar.
  •  
  • Has no future plans, which includes politics.
