RCMP responded to a report of a pickup truck breaking through the ice on Last Mountain Lake on Sunday.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. a pickup truck towing an ice fishing shack near the Grandview Resort fell through the ice and became partially submersed in the lake.
All occupants of the truck were able to exit the vehicle.
On December 10th, 2011 a pair of men were driving quads on Last Mountain Lake when one fell through the ice near Grandview Beach. The driver of the second ATV tried to help his relative but lost sight of him under the ice. The Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body two days later.
On Christmas Day, 2012 another man driving a quad fell through the ice near Grandview Beach. The water was shallow and he was able to climb out unharmed.
RCMP would like to remind everyone that the unseasonable warm weather conditions have made for unpredictable and unsafe ice conditions and vehicular truck on the ice is strongly discouraged.
